Pita recipe

Here is an amazing pita bread recipe for today!

You can follow the recipe with the help of this Youtube video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gq9goyWzfso

Ingredients:
3 cups of flour
1,5 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon sugar
7g yeast
0,5 cup warm water + 1 cup warm water
olive oil

Dissolve yeast in 1/2 cup of warm water with sugar.Dissolve it and let it sit for 10-15 minutes until water is frothy. Combine flour and salt in large bowl. Make a hole in the middle of flour and pour the watery yeast in there. Slowly add 1 cup of warm water, and stir until elastic.

Place your dough on a floured surface and knead for 10-15 minutes. When the dough is no longer sticky and is smooth, it was successfully kneaded.

Coat your bowl with olive oil and place your dough there. Coat your dough with the olive oil.

Allow to sit the dough in a warm place for 1-2 hours, or until it has doubled in size.

Once doubled, pinch off 10-12 small pieces.

Place balls on a floured surface and let them sit covered for 10 minutes. Preheat the oven to 500 F.

Roll out each ball of dough with a rolling pin into thin circles.

Bake each circle for 3-4 minutes until the bread puffs up. Turn over and bake for 2 minutes on its other side.

Remove each pita with a spatula from the baking sheet and add additional pitas for baking.

Take spatula and gently push down puff. Immediately place in storage bags.
------------
Pita bread can be stored for up to a week in a pantry or bread box, and up to a month in the freezer. Be sure to use freezer bags when storing in the freezer.

Sunday morning breakfast with some birds

Sunday morning brunch in Hialeah has to be spent with some birds in the front of the restaurant. :)

Christmas Preparation

I am sorry for being so silent recently but I started my first job in the US and it was very demanding physically in the beginning. I try me best to post here as often as possible.

Here is my latest blog post about my Christmas preparation.

I hope everyone has peaceful and happy holidays!

Celery - How to have some more leaves after cutting all

A couple of weeks ago I bought celery to make some soup. I cut all the leaves and I was eager to try an experiment that I have seen before a couple of times.

It is basically a type of propagation without having roots again. You just have to sink the stem (with no leaves) in some water (not too much) and wait 2-3 days to see the first leaves coming to life.

It worked for me perfectly, so I encourage you too to try and see the progress.

Have fun!

Plant update - End of November

A quick plant update is here for you! Today I woke up for only 14C (57F) degree and it feels sooooo good! The plants like it too :)
Enjoy!
And Happy Thanksgiving!
