Sunday morning breakfast with some birds

Sunday morning brunch in Hialeah has to be spent with some birds in the front of the restaurant. :)

Christmas Preparation

I am sorry for being so silent recently but I started my first job in the US and it was very demanding physically in the beginning. I try me best to post here as often as possible.

Here is my latest blog post about my Christmas preparation.

I hope everyone has peaceful and happy holidays!

Celery - How to have some more leaves after cutting all

A couple of weeks ago I bought celery to make some soup. I cut all the leaves and I was eager to try an experiment that I have seen before a couple of times.

It is basically a type of propagation without having roots again. You just have to sink the stem (with no leaves) in some water (not too much) and wait 2-3 days to see the first leaves coming to life.

It worked for me perfectly, so I encourage you too to try and see the progress.

Have fun!

Plant update - End of November

A quick plant update is here for you! Today I woke up for only 14C (57F) degree and it feels sooooo good! The plants like it too :)
Enjoy!
And Happy Thanksgiving!

Hello Everyone,

Let me introduce you my new friend, my Singer sewing machine. I just got it today from my husband. What a great present! I can`t wait to start doing new projects that have been stored in my head for a long time. I need some additional tools, fabric and thread but you know what...I am already super excited to sew!!!!!

Plant update - End of October

Dear Everyone,

I think it is time to have a plant update as November is approaching fast. Here there is no real change in the weather, we have hot, humid, sunny days. As for this weekend, the temperature is a bit lower than average, so I can keep the window and the balcony door open all day.

It seems the plants love this climate and this temperature is just fine for them in this season.

They say `hi` to You from the sunny balcony in Coral Gables.

Brunfelsia plicata (I hope I found the correct name of this plant).

Marigolds. Proud marigolds.

Basil plants.

Little lemon trees.

New members of the family: different types of lettuce.

Tomato plants after planting them in containers.

Marjoram. So cute.

Dill, growing strong.

I had to wait a lot for them but now they seem to grow a bit faster. They are my violas.

Avocado trees.

Hot peppers. Replanting is coming soon.

Mamey tree.
